Are Your Relationships Helping or Hindering You?

If you’re looking for a way to immediately elevate the quality of your life, I encourage you to look through your last twenty phone calls. Or your last 20 text messages and ask yourself, did those conversations expand you or did that contract you? Was that a blessing or a curse to interact with that person? Is that person going to help you become the kind of person you want to live the kind of life you want? Are they doing that now or not? Watch my video to learn more. — Bryan Miller

Hello, my friends. It’s Bryan here. In this video, like all of my videos, I hope to share with you an idea that helps you make your life work better. Not just makes your life work better, helps you to achieve and extraordinary quality of life.

And to make an extraordinary contribution to life. As I was browsing the Internet, I came across a story that made me think about a principle that helps make life work better. It’s this, it’s the people you associate with, the people you surround yourself with.

Most of us don’t rub shoulder with billionaires, and most of us aren’t hanging out with the criminal element, at least not yet or not that we know of.

There’s this story that you might have seen online about this lady named Michelle Carter. A few years ago Michelle Carter was involved with a guy who was not really happy evidently, and he ended up committing suicide, and she encouraged him to do so. The courts have now sentenced her to 15 months in prison and five months of probation. Which is kinda crazy to me that that’s her sentence.

The point is, what has been determined by the legal system is that he would not have followed through with this if it wasn’t for her encouragement. I think about the power of somebody to influence me when I’m driving. If you’ve ever been in the situation where you’ve been behind the wheel, or maybe you’ve been the passenger, and somebody is giving you directions, especially if you’re driving somebody’s giving you directions, and they say, “Turn left!” You’re trusting them. They’re navigating. They’re helping you navigate. If they say that, you’re going to go.

The people that we surround ourselves with have an incredible impact on the results that we produce. It’s not always easy to see because it’s not always matters of life and death. If you’re looking for a way to immediately elevate the quality of your life, I encourage you to look through your last twenty phone calls. Or your last 20 text messages and see, really stand back from the content or the conversation that you were having and ask yourself, did that expand you or did that contract you? Was that a blessing or a curse to interact with that person? Is that person going to help you become the kind of person you want to live the kind of life you want? Are they doing that now or not? Then, just see what comes up for you.

With that, I look forward to the time we talk again next. I’m headed to Ecuador today. I’m going to spend a couple of week in the rain forest. I look forward to sharing with you some of the things that I learn in that incredible environment. Until then, take care. I look forward to talking to you again very soon.
